We're planning a renovation of an old building, and there are a lot of metal beams showing signs of fatigue. Are there any mobile services that don't just weld on demand, but can also conduct a defect analysis, assess the condition of the welds, and suggest a reinforcement plan?

I think we should first commission an independent structural assessment. Regular welders, even experienced ones, are unlikely to take responsibility for assessing the fatigue of old metal.

Inexperienced welders won't undertake a load-bearing capacity assessment. This requires a company with engineers to inspect defects. I recommend checking out the website of a team offering welding services . They take a comprehensive approach: they first thoroughly examine the wear of old welds, calculate the loads, and only then do certified welders reinforce the metal frame. After their work, structures last for many years.
