Hi everyone! In the world of fast-paced PR, it's crucial to catch a trend while it's hot. If a newsworthy topic breaks in the morning, we literally have a couple of hours to publish our content and get automatically distributed to mobile users. How can we automate monitoring of such spikes? How do you practically spot emerging viral topics in recommendation engines before everyone else writes about them?

In recommendations, the first one to do so wins. If a news story has already been shared by all the major media outlets, trying to repost the same piece three hours later is pointless - the algorithm has already selected the original sources. Constant automated monitoring is needed to intercept emerging topics within minutes of their appearance.
